Cut of a possible pit
Interpretation
Context 640 corresponds to the cut of a circular pit identified in the south-west corner of the sondage, north of the wall c601. This cut truncates layer c642. The pit measures approximately 1 meter in diameter. Its full profil is unknown, as only a few centimeters of its fill had been excavated by the end of the 2023 excavation season. The pit is filled with a homogeneous upper deposit, recorded as context 639.
[Original notes from context sheet : C640 is the cut of C639, with is below C601 and C636. truncate C644. The cut maybe be associated with building the wall. Human firy created ted a pit or ditch and put some stuff to smooth, then start to build the wall. C640 is extend to the bottom of C601.]
