Interpretation
Context 639 corresponds to the fill of a pit (cut c640) identified in the south west corner of the sondage excavated north of the wall c601. It sealed by the layer c636.
A very few finds were recovered from the cleaning surface - clay building material, faunal remains.
[Original notes from the context sheet ; part of the interpretation given here were transferred to the c640 context : C639 is at southwest corner of northern sondage , it was below C636 and southwest truncated C644 which is notural soil. It could be associated with the process of the wall C601,which is a process prepare for building wall. People first dig a small pit and smooth the bottom of pit, then stare fill in some building material to the wall. The cut is extend into the bottom of wall (C601) seems to be created before it.]
