Interpretation
Context 615 corresponds to a layer of stones found beneath the topsoil (c600). It has an irregular shape, measuring 1.20 m in length (S-N) and 0.80 m in width (E-W). The excavation of the structure by half (N-S) as a test trench did not reveal any pit outline.
The layer primarily consists of sorted cobbles (7-10 cm in size), some of which are fragmented, along with ground stones, possibly knapped stones, associated with the indirect manufacturing process, and some pottery sherds, animal bones and shells. The inflitrating soil between the stones is the same as the above context c611. This context may be linked to stone tool manufacturing (a rubbish area?). A detailed analysis of the retrieved stone objects will help refine the interpretation of this context.
