Interpretation
Context c620 corresponds to a layer identified against the structure c601, partially covering its southern side. It is identical to c604, but with a different number for practical reasons during the excavation. It consists of a sandy silt soil, with moderate limestone and charcoal inclusions, a few pieces of burned clay building material.
This layer contained a few artefacts, fewer than in the south (c620), but still quite significant, such as pottery sherds, chipped stones, ground stones, a shell object, fragment of a possible marble bracelet, pieces of clay building material. A few shells and animal bones were also retrieved.
The interpretation of this layer is the same as described for c620 : it is likely a layer formed by natural sedimentation during the period of occupation at the site.
