SU 8038 represents a rich brown fill of cut SU 8037, created for the construction of WS_44 in the western end of Area A. SU 8038 was filled with a significant amount of large material inclusions. Upon excavation of SU 8037, it became evident that the two wall stones of WS_44 were added later than the wall stone on the north end of WS_44. This cut and fill, SU 8037 and SU 8038, in fact seemed to represent two cuts and fills - one cut and fill created earlier for the two southern stones of WS_44 and one cut and fill created later for the placement of the later N stone of WS_44. We were unable to distinguish the difference between these events during excavation.
