Interpretation
Context c620 corresponds to the embedding layer of the stone assemblage c615. It is identical to c604, but with a different number for practical reasons during the excavation. It consisted of a sandy silt soil, with some yellowish-brown burned soil.
This layer contained a few artefacts, mainly chipped stones, but also a ground stone, fragments of marble, quartz, and flint, as well as a shell object, a bone object, a bead, a few pottery sherds, and some pieces of clay building material. A few shells and animal bones were also retrieved.
Based on the observations, this layer appears to result from natural sedimentation, likely due to colluviation, which cover the during the period of occupation at the site.
