Interpretation
The context 603 corresponds to the human skeleton belonging to the single burial F1. Found at 0.55 m above the level of the top soil, it has been damaged by moderne ploughing (causing displacement of the left hand and bones found in the upper fill of the burial) and by the mechanical excavation (about 40% percent of the skeleton remains preserved). Oriented exactly west-east, like the neighbouring burial F2, this skeleton likely belongs to an adult, possibly male (subject to confirmation through osteological analysis). The individual was positioned in a flexed posture on the right side, with the head oriented east. Both arms were flexed, with the hands positioned near the head in a resting position, especially the right hand, which is well-preserved and articulated. The position of the feet remains unclear. No soft wrappings or other constraining elements were identified. The movement of the mandible could suggest an initially empty pit with a cover; however, this hypothesis cannot be confirmed due to the modern disturbance of the skeleton. The variation in bone depths may be explained by the irregularity of the pit (C613). No artefacts could be definitively associated with the individual, as the fill of the burial (C606) consists of the same soil as the surrounding pit (C605). Nonetheless, a chipped stone (606 #11) and three shells (606 #10, 15, and 18) were recorded in the fill, located in the area of the spine, though they were classified as special finds (C606). The preserved length of the skeleton, measured from west to east, is 0.90 m.

Notes or comments
Right humerus (outer condyle to upper end): 27.5 cm
Hip bone (exterior side to posterior inferior iliac spine): 12.7 cm
Fibula (part of the diaphysis): 19.5 cm
Cotylopubic width: 2.4 cm
Acetabulum height: 3.5 cm
Further information, especially regarding the joints, can be found on the specific anthropological context sheets. The exact position of the bone bases can be found on the printed photographs associated with the field archives and in the 3D model created before and after the bones were removed.
